Kajabi Review. Is Kajabi really worth it?

An honest look at Kajabi from someone who works with the platform every week. I'll cover the strengths, limitations, pricing and the types of businesses I think Kajabi genuinely works well for.

My Kajabi Review

Is Kajabi worth it? For the right business, yes.

I think Kajabi is a very strong platform when you actually need several parts of an online business working together. But it is not automatically the right choice for everyone.

S
My Short Answer

Kajabi is at its best when you use it as a complete business platform.

If you need a website, digital products, email, checkout, automation and an ongoing customer experience, Kajabi can bring a lot of moving parts together. If you only need one very simple function, there may be cheaper and simpler ways to achieve it.

Kajabi Could Be A Great Fit If...

You want one connected system.

Kajabi becomes particularly useful when several different parts of your digital business need to work together.

  • ✓ You sell online courses, memberships, coaching or a community
  • ✓ You want your website, checkout, products and email marketing connected
  • ✓ You need automations and customer journeys based on purchases and behaviour
  • ✓ You want to reduce the number of separate platforms you need to manage
  • ✓ Your business is established enough to justify paying for an all-in-one platform
Kajabi May Not Be Right If...

Your requirements are very simple.

Kajabi can be more platform than you need if you are only trying to solve one small problem.

  • × You only need a basic brochure website with no digital products
  • × You only need simple email marketing and nothing else
  • × Your main priority is finding the absolute cheapest platform available
  • × You need highly bespoke functionality that sits outside Kajabi's ecosystem
  • × You will only use a small fraction of the tools included in your subscription
S
One Important Consideration

The value also depends on which Kajabi plan you actually need.

You do not necessarily need the most expensive Kajabi plan. If cost is one of your main considerations, I've put together a separate guide comparing the current plans, pricing, limits and UK payment fees.

Kajabi Pros & Cons

What I like about Kajabi. And where it falls short.

No platform is perfect. Kajabi has some very strong advantages, but there are also limitations worth understanding before you build your business around it.

The Pros

What Kajabi does particularly well.

The biggest advantage for me is not one individual feature. It is how much of the customer journey can live inside one connected platform.

  • ✓

    One joined-up ecosystem

Your website, products, checkout, email, contacts and automations can all interact without relying on lots of separate systems.

  • ✓

    Strong for digital products

Courses, memberships, coaching, downloads and communities can all be delivered from the same overall platform.

  • ✓

    Useful automation

Purchases, forms, tags, email sequences and product access can trigger automated customer journeys without needing to manually manage every step.

  • ✓

Easier to manage as you grow

Having fewer separate subscriptions and integrations can make a growing digital business easier to maintain and troubleshoot.

  • ✓

    Plenty of room for customisation

While Kajabi has its own framework, there is still a lot that can be done with page design, custom code, integrations and external automation.

The Cons

Where Kajabi is not perfect.

Kajabi can do a lot, but being an all-in-one platform also means there are areas where a specialist tool may offer more flexibility.

  • ×

    It is not cheap

If you only need one small part of the platform, the monthly subscription can feel expensive compared with a simpler specialist tool.

  • ×

    Some limitations are platform-specific

There are times when you may want a very specific layout, workflow or feature that Kajabi does not provide natively.

  • ×

Advanced setups can still get complex

Kajabi is easier than stitching together lots of platforms, but a sophisticated business can still require careful planning, integrations and external automation.

  • ×

    Specialist tools can go deeper

A dedicated email, ecommerce or website platform may offer more advanced features in that one area than Kajabi does.

  • ×

You need to use enough of it

Kajabi makes much more sense when several parts of the platform are genuinely useful to your business. Paying for it while using only one feature is harder to justify.

S
My View

The strengths outweigh the limitations for the right type of business.

I would not recommend Kajabi simply because it can technically do something. I think it makes most sense when the business genuinely benefits from having products, marketing, payments and customer delivery working together. In that situation, the joined-up experience is where Kajabi becomes particularly valuable.

Kajabi Features In Practice

What can you actually build with Kajabi?

Kajabi is often described as an all-in-one platform, but what matters is what that actually allows you to create. For many businesses, these are the main parts of the platform that make it useful.

Websites & Landing Pages

Build your main website, sales pages, opt-in pages and campaign landing pages inside the same platform as your products and customers.

Online Courses

Create structured courses with lessons, resources, video, downloads and customer access all managed through Kajabi.

Memberships & Communities

Give customers ongoing access to content, community spaces and recurring membership experiences within the same ecosystem.

Coaching Programmes

Deliver coaching alongside resources, scheduling and customer access without having to build the experience across several separate tools.

Email Marketing

Send broadcasts and automated sequences based on forms, tags, purchases and other customer activity inside Kajabi.

Automated Customer Journeys

Connect purchases, tags, email, product access and external tools to create more sophisticated customer journeys as the business grows.

Offers & Checkout

Sell products through one-time payments, subscriptions or payment plans, then automatically provide the correct access after purchase.

Funnels & Lead Generation

Build opt-ins, lead magnets, email follow-up and sales journeys that connect directly with your Kajabi contacts and products.

Integrations & Wider Systems

Kajabi can also sit within a larger setup, connecting to tools such as Zapier and other external platforms when your workflow needs to go beyond Kajabi itself.

S
Where Kajabi Gets Interesting

The real benefit comes when these pieces work together.

For example, someone could discover your website, download a resource, enter an email sequence, purchase a programme, automatically receive the correct course and community access, and then move into a longer customer journey based on what they bought. That connected experience is one of the main reasons I think Kajabi works well for more established digital businesses.

Kajabi Pricing & Value

Is Kajabi expensive? Yes, but that is only half the story.

Kajabi is not a budget platform. Whether it represents good value depends on how much of the platform you actually use and what you would otherwise pay for separately.

How I Look At The Cost

Don't compare Kajabi with just one cheaper tool.

If you compare Kajabi with a simple website builder or a standalone email platform, Kajabi will often look expensive. But that is not really a like-for-like comparison.

The better comparison is the combined cost and complexity of the website, course platform, email marketing, checkout, community and automation tools you would otherwise need.

  • ✓ More value when you use more of Kajabi The subscription becomes easier to justify when several parts of the platform replace separate tools.
  • ✓ Fewer systems to connect There can also be value in reducing the number of integrations and subscriptions that need maintaining.
  • ✓ You don't always need the highest plan Starting with the level your business genuinely needs can make the overall cost much more sensible.
Kajabi Plans

Basic, Growth or Pro?

Kajabi's plans increase the amount of capacity available as your business becomes larger or more complex. You do not need to choose the biggest plan simply because it exists.

Basic Best suited to simpler or newer Kajabi setups.
Growth A useful middle ground for many established businesses.
Pro More appropriate when you genuinely need additional scale.
S
My View

Kajabi is expensive if you barely use it. It can be very good value if it replaces several tools.

I would not choose Kajabi purely because it has lots of features. I would choose it when those features genuinely fit the way the business needs to operate. That's when the cost starts to make much more sense.

Kajabi Ease Of Use

What is Kajabi actually like to use?

Kajabi is relatively easy to manage once the foundations are in place. The challenge usually isn't carrying out everyday tasks. It is planning the products, automations and customer journey properly as the setup becomes more sophisticated.

My Overall View
8/10

Approachable, but there is still a learning curve.

Kajabi does a good job of bringing a lot of functionality into one backend. Everyday tasks become fairly intuitive, although the platform can feel much more complicated when you first start connecting everything together.

Day-to-day management Very good
Building basic content Good
Advanced setup More involved
01

Everyday management is straightforward.

Once everything is set up, tasks such as updating lessons, sending emails, managing contacts and reviewing customers are generally easy to carry out from the Kajabi backend.

02

The page builder is accessible.

You can build and edit websites and landing pages visually without needing to understand code, while customisation is still possible when you want to push the design further.

03

Structure matters more as you grow.

Multiple products, offers, tags, email sequences and communities can become messy if they are created without a clear structure from the beginning.

04

Advanced journeys take more planning.

Once you start combining Kajabi automations with external tools, Zapier and more detailed customer journeys, the work becomes less about clicking buttons and more about designing the system properly.

S
From Working Inside Kajabi

You don't necessarily need ongoing technical help once the system is built properly.

One of my aims when building Kajabi setups is to make the everyday parts manageable for the business itself. Where specialist help becomes more useful is the initial structure, custom design, migrations, integrations and more advanced automation.

Kajabi vs Separate Tools

All-in-one platform or specialist tools?

One of the biggest decisions is whether to keep your business inside one ecosystem or build it from several separate specialist platforms. Neither approach is automatically better.

Separate Specialist Tools

Better when one area needs maximum flexibility.

A separate-tool setup can be stronger when your business has very specific requirements that go beyond what an all-in-one platform is designed to provide.

  • ✓ Deeper specialist functionality A dedicated email, ecommerce or website platform may offer more advanced tools in that one area.
  • ✓ More freedom to swap individual tools You can replace one part of your stack without necessarily moving the rest of the business.
  • ✓ Can be cheaper for simple requirements If you only need one or two functions, specialist tools can cost less than paying for a full Kajabi subscription.
  • ✓ Better for highly bespoke setups Some businesses simply need a level of custom functionality that sits outside Kajabi's intended use.
S
My Rule Of Thumb

Choose based on the system your business needs, not the longest feature list.

If your website, products, email, payments and customer journey are closely connected, I think Kajabi's all-in-one approach can be a major advantage. If one part of your business needs unusually advanced functionality, a specialist platform or hybrid setup may be the better choice.

Who Kajabi Works Best For

Who is Kajabi actually best for?

Kajabi is most useful for businesses built around knowledge, expertise, education or an ongoing customer relationship. These are some of the situations where I think it fits particularly well.

Course Creators

Kajabi is a natural fit if online courses are a core part of the business and you want the sales, marketing and delivery side connected.

Coaches & Consultants

Coaching businesses can combine programmes, resources, scheduling, email, payments and customer access within one joined-up system.

Membership Businesses

Recurring memberships can combine paid access, ongoing content, community and automated customer communication in the same platform.

Expert-Led Brands

If your business is built around your expertise, methodology or intellectual property, Kajabi can help turn that knowledge into structured products.

Community-Led Programmes

Kajabi can work well when community is part of a wider paid programme and needs to sit alongside content, events and customer access.

Growing Digital Businesses

Kajabi becomes especially useful when you already have multiple products, customers and marketing journeys that need to work together reliably.

S
The Common Thread

Kajabi makes the most sense when your customer relationship continues after the sale.

If someone buys once and disappears, you may not need everything Kajabi offers. It becomes much more valuable when customers move through courses, memberships, coaching, community, email and future offers as part of a longer relationship with your business.

When Kajabi May Not Be The Best Fit

Who probably shouldn't use Kajabi?

I like Kajabi, but I would not recommend it to every business. In some situations, paying for an all-in-one platform adds cost without creating enough extra value.

×

You only need a simple website.

If you only want a few pages explaining your services and a contact form, a conventional website platform will often be simpler and cheaper than paying for Kajabi.

×

You're primarily an ecommerce business.

If your main business is selling a large catalogue of physical products, a dedicated ecommerce platform such as Shopify is generally a more natural fit.

×

Your budget is extremely limited.

Kajabi is a premium platform. If keeping monthly software costs as low as possible is your main priority, combining simpler or lower-cost tools may make more sense initially.

×

You only need one feature.

If all you need is email marketing, a basic course, scheduling or another single function, you may get better value from a specialist tool rather than paying for the whole Kajabi ecosystem.

×

You need highly bespoke functionality.

Kajabi can be customised significantly, but it is still a platform with its own framework. Businesses needing completely bespoke software may eventually hit limitations.

×

You're not ready to use the platform yet.

If you do not yet know what you want to sell, how customers will buy it or what journey they should go through, it can be better to clarify the business model before paying for a larger system.

S
My Advice

Don't choose Kajabi just because it can do lots of things.

Choose it when those things actually fit the way your business operates. If you will genuinely use the website, products, email, payments, automation and customer delivery together, Kajabi can make a lot of sense. If not, there may be a simpler option.

My Final Kajabi Review

So, is Kajabi worth it?

For the right type of business, I think it is. Kajabi isn't the cheapest option, and it isn't perfect, but its strength is how effectively it can bring an entire digital customer journey together.

9/10
My Overall Rating
Final Verdict

One of the strongest all-in-one platforms for serious knowledge-based businesses.

I think Kajabi is particularly strong for coaches, course creators, membership businesses and expert-led brands that want their website, marketing, products, payments and customer experience working together.

I wouldn't recommend it simply because it has a long feature list. The real value comes when your business genuinely uses several of those features as one connected system. In that situation, Kajabi can remove a lot of unnecessary complexity and provide a very solid platform to build on.

Kajabi Review FAQ

A few final questions.

I think Kajabi is worth the money when you use several parts of the platform together. If it replaces separate tools for your website, courses, email, checkout, community and automation, the cost can make much more sense. You can see my full breakdown in my Kajabi pricing guide .

Yes. The everyday Kajabi interface is relatively approachable, and you do not need to know how to code. The main learning curve comes from deciding how your products, offers, email and customer journey should work together.

The main disadvantages are the price, some limitations compared with dedicated specialist platforms, and the fact that more advanced setups can still require careful planning, customisation or external integrations.

For many coaching, education and digital product businesses, yes. Kajabi can run your main website alongside landing pages, products, checkout and email. Businesses with unusually complex website requirements may still prefer a dedicated website platform.

Yes. You can use my Kajabi partner link to start a 30-day free trial, which gives you time to explore the platform and begin building before your paid subscription starts.

Not necessarily. You can build Kajabi yourself. Expert help becomes more useful if you want a custom website, a larger migration, more advanced customer journeys, integrations or a setup that has been structured properly from the beginning.
